Free Event Each summer the faithful of Santa Fe gather to ensure that Don Diego de Vargas’ promise is kept to honor the oldest Marian statue in the United States, Nuestra Senora de la Paz, La Conquistadora. Novena de La Conquistadora

Free Event Once at Rosario Chapel, the faithful flock to pay homage to the 29-inch Marian figure, La Conquistadora, which first arrived at this site on September 13, 1692. A week-long series of masses are celebrated daily at 6 AM and 5:15 PM. The novena is nine successive days of prayer in honor of Don Diego de Vargas’ request for a special intercessory grace upon his arrival in 1692.

The procession and novena to Our Lady is a tradition that has been carried out by the faithful of Santa Fe for many years.
